Visitation Guidelines:
Each Care Giver team is asked to make two visitations per month.
The visitation is to be to the care receiver(s) listed and may be done at any time during the visitation period outlined in the table below. If you will be unavailable for the entire visitation period please find another visitation team to trade assignments with.
Visitations to care receivers living independently should always be preceded by a telephone request to set up a visitation date and time convenient to both the care givers and care receivers.
Once an appointment is made, should the need arise to postpone the visit, a call explaining why a postponement is necessary and to re-schedule the visit is to be done as far in advance of the scheduled visit as possible.
Visitations to care receivers living in nursing home situations or staying in hospitals should be visited at times which are least disruptive to the care receiver and the staff of facility. Each facility may have different guidelines for visitation of patients so please be sure to check with the staff at each facility.
Remember a visitation need not be long to be successful. Normally a visitation of between 15 minutes and 1 hour is enough time to share some news from the congregation and show the care receiver that our congregation does indeed care about members who are unable to attend regular worship services.
Adherence to these guidelines will help insure that our ministry is focused on the care receivers needs instead of our own.
